We've been on holiday in Wasdale, Cumbria for a couple of weeks. One evening I looked out of the window and saw an unfolding drama. I picked up camera and tripod and ran out of the house and down the road to find truly wondrous light. The only downside - the centrepiece mountain of Great Gable was hidden by a cloud. From this angle Gable is a perfect pointed pyramid with the added interest of the famous Napes crags on the front - all hidden by an, admittedly very attractive, cloud blanket.
I was lucky to find a view without any cars in it. All week it had been very busy and on a previous evening's photography I hadn't been able to miss them.
